The Film Delivers Message On What The True American Dream Is

“Minari” Is Heart-Warming And Emotional

A24 is back with yet another release to theaters with “Minari”, following “Saint Maud” after waiting months to release it. To no surprise, “Minari” is quite fascinating. It not only delivers emotionally, but it truly highlights what the American dream is to outsiders and how it’s different for everyone.

“Minari”, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, follows a Korean family who moves to the United States where they are trying to pursue the American dream. Here, they find a very small, trailer-like ranch in the Arkansas farms, where the father’s dream is to pursue the farm life as he thinks it’s a great investment and a great way to make money. The rest of the family is seemingly unimpressed with their new life and wishes to move to California or back to Korea, especially the mother. “Minari” highlights the ups and downs of their new life in Arkansas, the struggles and challenges they have to overcome, along with the heart-warming message that family and being happy is the true American dream.
