Cross Country Clean Sweep

Cross+Country+Clean+Sweep

Verrado cross country had a clean sweep this past Wednesday with the men’s team scoring 35 total points and the women’s team scoring 41 points!

In cross country, the lowest amount of points wins and the top 7 runners’ scores count towards the total points. Student-athletes run a 5k which is 3.1 miles with no substitutions, no halftimes, no timeouts, just them and the clock.

The men’s team took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 11th. All really close finishes! Ray Naylor took 1st overall and for Verrado with a time of 17:52!

As for the women’s team, they took 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, & 12th. Again, really close finishes! Freshmen Maryn Wolf took 1st overall and for Verrado with a time of 22:34!
The Verrado Cross Country team’s next meet is Wednesday, September 15th @ Millennium High School! Come out and support!
