Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse Review

Valentine’s Day is the holiday about flowers, chocolates, and trying expensive restaurants, that neither you nor your partner has ever tried. That restaurant for me and my girlfriend was: Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

Being someone who likes steak I was very excited about this restaurant, our reservation was for 8, and as soon as we got there we were sat almost immediately, there was bread and butter brought to the table, which on its own was good, and for the restaurant being as busy as it was our service was fast and great, with our server even taking the time to explain some of the stuff on the menu.

I had ordered a new york strip, with a side of mashed potatoes and my girlfriend had ordered the petite filet mignon with mac and cheese. I’ll start with the sides, the mashed potatoes were really good, they were soft and cracked black pepper, not anything I would write home about but still really good. Next is the mac and cheese, this was definitely the better of the two sides and it was honestly the best mac and cheese I have ever had, it was rich and creamy, but the best part was that there was chipotle pepper seasoning which brought it all together.

Next is the steaks, my new york strip was honestly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, to start it was a good-sized piece, that was extremely tender, with lots of flavor, and a nice bark throughout the steak, needless to say, I did not want this to go to waste, and surprisingly, I was able to put down the whole thing. The meat itself was nice and tender with very little fat on it, but just enough to add some flavor. Next was my girlfriend’s steak, the petite filet mignon, and again it was probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, it too was full of flavor, and extremely tender to the point where it cut like butter. It wasn’t the biggest steak but still a decent size.

Between the two though I would take the new york strip anytime over the filet. After the steaks and the sides, the bill came out to just a few cents shy of $160, and for the quality of everything, I would say the price was fair but, I would only be able to eat here every once in an awhile after looking at the bill.

Overall this was a very excellent restaurant with great food and service, and once my bank account recovers I will make my way back here.
