A character from Warzone 2.0 glares menacingly from the car.

Warzone 2.0 is one of the new video games in 2022 that is super fun, and it’s completely free. Anyone with a PC, Playstation four, Xbox One, or newer model can download it. The biggest video game in recent years was Fortnite. Everywhere children were doing the dances, watching games on Youtube, and joining up with their friends to play. That game is a battle royale, which means over 100 other real online players drop into a map and fight each other until the last team is left standing. Warzone 2.0 is also a battle royale on the El Mazrah map. Joining up with the boys and winning a game feels super accomplishing beating out all the other squads and is a great way to catch up with friends while playing.

One of the new additions to Warzone 2.0 that no other battle royale has is proximity chat. This unique feature allows players to talk to nearby enemies within a certain range and hear their microphones. This cool feature means players can hear if other teams are telling their teammates information about what’s going on in the game, and then allows players to directly communicate. One fun mechanic is after downing a player, letting them know they can be revived and allowed to walk away if they drop their money and guns. Also weaponizing proximity chat is one fun strategy, like blasting the NFL theme song in the background when approaching a squad so no one can hear the approaching footsteps of an enemy right behind them.

There are plenty of different strategies to win a game of Warzone 2. Using a riot shield to deflect bullets, building a class with a fast-moving weapon to speed around the map or a heavy sniper for precisely timed bullets to the head. All kinds of different playstyles are accepted depending on the unique way the individual wants to play. If a player doesn’t really play many video games, the game knows and separates lobbies based on how new and skilled the player is. So whether the victory is achieved solo or with a group of friends, anyone can hop on Warzone and have a good time.
