Calling it, “too noisy” or ruling him as a “tryhard” intentionally using an array of sounds and switch-ups in melody as an attempt to stray from other artists in the scene.
Student Aria Anderson shared her thoughts on the album:
“I thought Tyler’s new album was amazing. I enjoyed it a lot, I think my favorite song on the album is “Sticky” and “Noid”, I thought the songs were catchy and I have listened to the album multiple times since it came out. I would say that it’s not my favorite album he has made, but it’s still perfect, Many people on the internet have said it wasn’t that good but in my opinion it is excellent. It’s great, but I like a couple of his other releases more. My favorite album is Flower Boy!”
Student Hannah Bruce also communicated her thoughts:
“I don’t listen to Tyler the Creator, but from the few songs I’ve listened to on his new album, he sounded excellent. I enjoyed his assortment of sounds and melodies. “Like Him” was my personal favorite, because it gave off the same vibes and energy as his song “Are We Still Friends” which is one of my favorite songs ever made. His music always has a really good sound and message, and this album is a good listen I would recommend!”
Performing his first live performance of the album at the Intuit Dome in Atlanta on release day generating a surge of hype and anticipation. Many videos of the concert uploaded on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram became viral hits, with many expressing their jealousy and excitement for this new era of Tyler’s.
