On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Verrado High School hosted Buckeye Union for an action-packed night of volleyball. All three grade levels—freshman, junior varsity, and varsity—competed in front of a great crowd, showcasing determination and awesome energy.
The evening began with the freshman team, who displayed hustle and heart. They fought hard to keep rallies alive and maintained high energy throughout both sets. Although they came up short, their resilience set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Next, the junior varsity squad continued the momentum, playing with intensity and strong teamwork. They claimed one set and consistently applied pressure on Buckeye Union. While the match ended in a narrow loss, the JV team kept fans on their feet, building excitement for the varsity contest.
The varsity team closed the night with a thrilling match. After dropping the first set, the Vipers rallied to secure a hard-fought victory. Strong teamwork and chemistry were on full display as the players fought back to give fans plenty to cheer for.
Though the results were mixed across the three levels, the overall performance demonstrated growth, effort, and school spirit. The freshmen set the stage with their enthusiasm, while the varsity team capped off the evening with a win.
The crowd left proud of the Vipers’ effort, as each team showcased the values of hard work, determination, and school pride.
