Last week rehearsals for the musical started! This year the spring musical is Legally Blonde The Musical! This musical is based on the movie Legally Blonde. It centers around Elle Woods, a girl from California who decides to go to Harvard Law school for love. It follows her journey to fight the blonde stereotypes and become “legally blonde.” The theater and choir departments are very excited about the musical this year. When you enter rehearsal there is automatically this electric energy between everyone in the room. 

The rehearsals started January 31st and will go for about three and half months till opening night on May 11th. The musical will run from May 11th-14th. I am the assistant stage manager for the musical. Makailah Sanchez and Jaden Hale, sorority girls in the show, are most excited to “ get to know everyone and have fun singing and dancing.” Jaden also mentioned that “the show is already coming together, and sounding good despite only having three rehearsals.” Makailah added that “it will be a really fun experience.”

The musical this year is going to be awesome. The theater department is very excited. As Makailah said, the musical is a time to “have fun with friends,” so find your inner Elle Woods and mark your calendars for May 11th-14th!
