As regular season has concluded for the Verrado badminton team, they exceeded all expectations. After starting out the season 2-2, the Vipers showed resilience and proceeded to win out landing them a 12-2 overall record and earning first place in their section.
Coach Wadding has done an impeccable job in proving the Vipers deserve to be where they are right now, and there’s no question that the Vipers should be included in the conversation of potential state champions. Seven of their twelve wins have been 9-0 shutouts, they went undefeated in in-section play, and are ranked sixth in all of Division II.
All this has culminated in a spot in the AIA Badminton Championship. Who they play is still TBD as the other team’s regular seasons have yet to end. This gives Verrado extra time to prepare for their matchup as they look to potentially go on a run for a state title.
