The Viper Times is pleased to announce the Verrado Literary Society. It’s a place where budding writers have a chance to present their amazing stories. Here is a poem by Annabelle Abraham.
Annabelle Abraham is a sophomore at Verrado High School. She enjoys being a part of the track and badminton teams at school. Annabelle loves to read books, hang out with friends, and watch movies in her free time. She typically draws inspiration from the things she loves and those around her in order to write her various stories or poems. One day, Annabelle hopes to attend NAU and graduate with a marketing degree.

Ocean waves crash on the shore
Wind blows through my hair
The beach is freedom at its core
I’ve always hoped for more
To be flying, dancing through air
Ocean waves crash on the shore
One day I’ll break free, explore
But life can just be so unfair
The beach is freedom at its core
I find I just wish for more and more
Sometimes it can be too much to bear
Ocean waves crash on the shore
This place seems to restore
And banish all hints of despair
The beach is freedom at its core
The sea is just too beautiful to ignore
I am nothing without it, I must declare
Ocean waves crash on the shore
The beach is freedom at its core
