Last Thursday both Verrado women’s soccer teams faced off against Canyon View. The JV was a rough game team fought hard and kept the game at a tie 0-0. The girl’s possession in JV was great and the girls are improving so much! The Varisty game on the other hand got a big win! Both teams had scored in the first half, their first goal was scored by sophomore, Casey McCorry! The second half gave the teams a run for their money but in the end, nobody ended up scoring. So the score was still tied, causing them to go into overtime. They played two halves, each ten minutes to determine the winner of the game. During the second half, Noelia Vargas was set off for a shot! Causing the score to become 2-1, giving the Vipers the win. The varsity girls are ranked 19th at the moment but they still have many games ahead of them. Support both girl’s teams as the season goes on and remember about the blackout night, a home game against Millenium that people can get into for one dollar if they wear black! Please go out to the girl’s home games and cheer them on! All the girls would appreciate it. To follow what the girl’s teams are doing follow them on Instagram @vhswomenssoccer1.
