Leah Melessa, Staff Writer
Leah Melessa is a senior at Verrado High School. She is a part of multiple clubs, such as Student Government and Fashion Club. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting and shopping, hanging out with her friends, and working. Born in South Carolina, Leah moved around the country because her father was in the military. By kindergarten, Leah was in Arizona and has lived there ever since.
Leah found her niche in Fashion Club at Verrado High School, where she modeled in the annual spring show and designed lines for 3 years. Although she never took up fashion as a hobby until freshmen year, fashion has always been a part of her life. Whether it be dressing up in princess costumes as a child, or simply piecing together outfits the night before school, fashion has always been important to her. More specifically, vintage fashion, seeing that Leah collects vintage pieces from various thrift stores, or sometimes, hand-me-downs from her family. With fashion being close to her heart, Leah hopes to someday pursue a career in fashion marketing or to become a creative director for a clothing brand.
As of junior year, Leah has been an active member of VHS’s very own Student Government, where she decided to run for the position of Social Governor. Now, she runs StuGo’s Instagram account, where she posts pictures and informatives for the student body to see. With this being said, Leah likes to make her voice heard in creative ways, whether that be through fashion, social media, or writing.
