Club Rush is an opportunity to explore all the different types of Clubs that Verrado High School has to offer and see what each club is about. It happened during lunch on August 23 when many different students represented their clubs to try and convince other students to express their interests. Some of the clubs that were there were Greenhand Club, Verrado Vencing, Chess, Fishing Club, Fashion Club, FBLA, HOSA, etc.
If you are interested in nature the Greenhand Club is the perfect club for you. It’s a community to learn and teach more about plants and the beautiful nature around us. Meetings will be held every Thursday from 3:15-4 in room A6.
For people who want to be business leaders in the future come and join FBLA(Future Business Leaders of America).In the future, you will be able to compete in competitions in Tempe AZ, Tucson AZ, and in the nationals. The meeting will be every other Tuesday from 3:10 – 4:00 in room E21.
For students who are interested in becoming future health professionals, HOSA is a great way to empower future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. Its mission is to develop leadership and technical HOSA Skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness, and recognition. The meeting is on Monday in A115.
Theater Club allows you to find a new passion and meet new people. They play theater games and hang out with other students interested in theater and also put on after-school productions, but not a requirement to be in the club. The meetings are in the black box on Monday from 3:05 to 4:05 p.m.
Hiking/Wellness Club give student opportunities to help get rid of any negative thought, worries, and anxiety. On Mondays after school in the career center, students will plan hikes outside of school.
Equilty/GSA is a safe place for a student of all backgrounds – LGBTQIA+, straight, indigenous, and foreign. It is a place to connect with others from diverse backgrounds and learn about what issues face the community they represent. The meeting will be every Thursday in B5 from 3:10 – 4:10.
No Place for Hate Club engages with students and staff in dialogue and in active learning on topics of prejudice, bullying, inclusion, and allyship that matter most in the community. Meetings are every 4th Thursday of each month during Viper Connect.
The fishing club here at Verrado gathers its members to regularly learn about fishing techniques, equipment, fish species, and conversation efforts. The club organizes nearby fishing trips, Competitions, and community outreach events to promote sustainable fishing. It also offers students the opportunity to bond over a shared interest and reel in unforgettable memories. Meetings are on Thursday at 3:15 p.m. in room E7.
Fashion Club offers to embrace undiscovered beauty and creativity through self-impressions. The next meeting will be on 9/8 in room B12 but after
The Verrado High School fencing club allows students to learn about practicing the arts of swordsmanship through traditional saber fencing and a modified version of kendo swordsmanship utilizing practice swords and proper safety equipment. As well as lightsaber fantasy swordsmanship. The meeting will be Tuesday in room E14
Chess Club allows students to come together to learn, play, and improve their chess. The meeting will be located in room A9 on Thursdays.
Tabletop gaming provides space for students to come together and play games, especially in DnD is every Tuesday from 3:15-6:00 in E28.
The Book Club is when students read a selected book for the month and then come together to discuss it with peers. It will be every last Friday of every month during Viper Connect in the library.
