Verrado Flag Football is looking up this season! With their most recent win against Desert Edge being 35-7 with 5 touchdowns, they are now first in the region. Their entire season has been promising and shows great potential for the future.
In the regular season, they are 3-1, winning against BMHS 21-0, and Lake Havasu 20-0. Their only loss is to Canyon View. They played a tournament and fought tough, but unfortunately, they didn’t win a game.
The Verrado Lady Vipers are sixth out of twenty-five overall in the 5A region. Then in Phoenix, they are eighteenth overall out of sixty-four teams in the category. So the team has improved quite significantly over the three years the sport has been at Verrado.
The main captains of the team are Simone Pfizter (Senior), Allison Rospierski (Junior), and Nevaeh Romero (Junior). Leading their team, they have been performing well in games.
Other leaders of the team are their coaches! This includes Head Coach Terry Barnes, Assistant Coach Sabrina Booth, Offense Coach Dra Rogers, and Defense of Coaches, Coach Erik Barrientos, and Coach Scott.
The girl’s first home game will be over fall break on October 7th! They will be playing Willow Canyon at 6 pm. The girls are still training on the days they don’t have games, and watching films to give them their best shot at winning!
With the girls only halfway through their season, they are coming in hot! Most upcoming games will be home games, so come along to support the ladies for a strong third season of flag football!
