Emma McWhorter

Emma McWhorter, Staff Writer

Born and raised in the sunny state of Arizona, Emma has always enjoyed outdoor activities like paddle boarding, going to the lake, enjoying a day at the pool, and going on hikes with friends and family. In her free time, she also enjoys thrift shopping, writing fun papers, going to the mall with her friends, and traveling with her family to new places she's never been to before. She plans to go to college after finishing high school this year and becoming a forensic investigator, as that has been her dream job since 6th grade, she would really like to pursue it!

As early as 10 years old she loved to write papers for fun and for class, she’d instead write multiple essays than do any math problems, for her math was her least favorite class and has always been that way all the way up to senior year. Emma hopes as she helps with the Journalism one class she is able to provide the best stories and has the opportunity to continue her love for writing as she takes it to a new level. Even though this is her first time ever being in Mrs. Studts Journalism class she believes she will thrive in this class.

Emma loves listening to music, some of her favorite artists consist of Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and Hozier. Emma hopes one day she will be able to attend a Harry Styles concert with her good friend Zoe as they are both big fans of Harry and his music! In her free time when she isn’t busy or listening to music, she watches some of her favorite movies like “Me Before You”, “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, and the Harry Potter series. She also enjoys watching older movies that none of her friends know about because they are “way too old!” but she loves the movie “When Harry Met Sally” even though it’s an old movie she believes it is one of the best movies to be made.

So as you can tell she is very thrilled to be doing Journalism this year and can not wait to get started writing the stories for the class and providing everyone with a piece to read!
