People around Buckeye are always looking for the perfect way to cool down. For most, that search ends at the Yard Milkshake Bar, a dessert destination that’s quickly becoming a frequent topic of conversation among Arizonans.

The real star of the show is, without a doubt, the milkshakes. Served in mason jars coated with frosting and toppings, each shake is piled high with extras like cookies, brownies, candy, and even slices of cake. The two dessert options we tried on this visit were the “crookie” and the “peanut butter brownie bliss”.
“ I thought it was just hype at first, until I tried their ice cream,” said Ainsley Penney, a sister of a Verrado student. “The cookie was the one I tried, and after a few bites, I completely understood the hype.”
As the presentation grabs the customer’s attention, the taste is what keeps us coming back. The ice cream taste is not too sweet, so when combined with the flavors from the toppings, it can become perfectly balanced with all of the flavors, so it doesn’t become overwhelming.
Beyond the food, it is a social hotspot you see students sometimes gather on the weekend to enjoy a sweet treat. Others also gather here for the Instagram worthy aesthetic to take photos to post on social media.
However, this extravagant experience does come at a price; the specialty shakes do tend to be more expensive. However, you can opt to have a cone, a specialty bowl, and even try a scoop of their cookie dough.
A recommendation would be the cookie dough. It is not too sweet. It is also within many budgets that can get three scoops of five dollars, making the treat more available to everyone.
In a city full of dessert options, the Yard Milkshake Bar stands out among them, not just for its style or size, but for creating a fun, memorable experience. For anyone looking for a sweet treat after a long day, or even just because. It might just even be the sweetest spot in town.
