Mia Garcia, Staff Writer

Having lived in Arizona all their life, Mia Garcia is a junior in high school and plans to make the most of these last years they have left. While Mia has always been a  bit unsure of the future but they know that one thing that they know for sure is that travel will be their favorite part of it all. They want to go on a trip where they hit all fifty states and get a bumper sticker that represents each one. While Arizona will always be their home, traveling around the US, or even going out of the country, will always be something they want to do. They can’t be helped but be drawn to live outside of Arizona. Everything is different everywhere, the people, the culture, the food, the festivities, the art, the sights to see, they wanna know and experience all of it.

While traveling is a deep interest for Mia, it’s a bit of a long-term goal. Art was always something that they had been able to get their hands on quickly. While they had always been enthusiastic about art, classic drawing and painting have never stuck. It was never as enjoyable for Mia as it was for others. So they had chosen to expand what they define as art, they had tried out different things such as chalk, watercolor, and charcoal, but it never really stuck. That is until they had tried out clay, it was something they had never really considered but they never knew that it would bring them a new creative outlet they’d end up falling in love with. Using clay to make anything you can imagine was the coolest thing in the world for Mia, so the idea of pottery or ceramics was perfect. To this day they still can’t help but be in awe at some of the things that were only in their imagination, sitting in front of them, made out of clay, staring back at them.
